What is a Bento Box?

Its the Japanese way of saying "take-out" meal. Coming in different sizes and numbers of compartments they are an excellent way of dividing a variety of food. They are also popular served in restaurants and at home.
Bentos that are traditional often consist of fish, meat, rice and one or more cooked or pickled vegetable. They come in disposable mass produced to the beautiful hand crafted wooden boxes. You can get them in many places throughout Japan including bento shops, stations, and department and convenience stores.
